The two Britain in Bloom judges visited Sherborne today and we took them on a grand tour of our town.
Here they are in the Willows Garden which is sited just behind the Yeatman Hospital and is maintained by the volunteer Friends of the Yeatman. This was just one of gardens on our route and they seemed very impressed.
We showed them our two parks, the Paddock and the Pageant, Swan Yard and Cheap Street, the gardens in Sherborne Boys School, the Abbey, the vicarage, the almshouses, Digby Road, the station and the castle.
They also seemed very interested in a lot of our trees, some of which are very old 😉
The timing worked out fine and the rain held off just until they departed. We’ll have to wait till 31 October at Llandudno to see how we’ve done.
Thanks to all of our Friends who worked so hard to get the town up to scratch. Everything went off without a hitch!
