Hidden Gardens Revealed

This weekend (4-5 June) Sherborne’s Hidden Gardens were once again open to the public.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Sherborne Castles in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, 19 gardens were opened to visitors.

Most of these gardens are completely hidden from view: from the street you would never know that a glorious garden was just beyond the wall. These super blooming spaces are a credit to Sherborne’s gardeners and we thank them for letting us get a glimpse of what they’ve been up to.

Here’s some examples:

Happy Birthday!

Her Majesty the Queen was only(!) 87 years old when she visited Sherborne in 2012 to commemorate her Diamond Jubilee.

On her 90th birthday today her loyal subjects here and around the world will be celebrating her long and active reign.

She is a great inspiration to her subjects of all ages and we bloomers hope that she has a truly happy day.

We would like to send Her Majesty our very best wishes and hope that she has many more birthdays to come.

And she is very welcome to come back to Sherborne whenever she likes 🙂

Happy Birthday, Ma-am!
