On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month Sherborne honours the fallen. The war memorial at the Abbey is where many people observe the two minutes silence.
100 years ago on 7 August (the day that Britain in Bloom judges visited us) Private Thomas William Read of Sherborne died, aged 18, at the third Battle of Passchendaele.
